Essential Oil Mixtures
Essential Oil Blend for Insect Bites
50 ml jojoba
6 dr. essential oil of geranium (Pelargonium graveolens, 5ml)
6 dr. essential oil of eucalyptus (Eucalyptus maculata citridora, 10ml)
6 dr. essential oil of lavender (Lavandula angustifolia, 10ml)
2 dr. essential oil of cedar (Cedrus atlantica, 10ml)
Please note, that this blend includes single bottles of each respective oil and that it is not a finished blend.
This blend has an insect repelling, cooling and pain or itch relieving effect. Any germs that may have entered the body through the sting or bite, are inhibited in their upward development into pathogenicity. The content of cedar oil provides an insecticidal effect which is directed especially against mosquitoes. If there are a lot of mosquitoes, the content of cedar oil in the mixture can be increased, e.g. to 4-6 drops.
Apply a few drops of the essential oil blend to the hand, distribute it between both hands and then wipe it onto the most vulnerable areas of exposed skin. In the case of animals, lightly wipe their coat with it, e.g. before going for a walk, particularly along the underside of the body to protect it from grass mites and tics.
Caution: Do not use on children (<8 y.) and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding!
Essential oils should never be applied undiluted, always mix it with a carrier oil (carrier substance).
If possible, test the patient for tolerance by having him smell the oil!
